EVENT DETAILS:
The Wildflower Duathlon event will take place on March 12th 2023 at 8AM at the National Botanic Gardens of Wales.
THIS RACE IS OPEN FOR ENTRY TO ALL ABILITIES FROM BEGINNERS TO SEASONED ATHLETES.
Tough Runner UK welcomes you to the fifth edition of the highly popular Wildflower Duathlon which takes place in the breath-taking scenery of The National Botanic Gardens of Wales and surrounding roads. The Wildflower Duathlon has picked up some followers over the years including Wales rugby International Legend, Shane Williams.
The run course will take part within the spectacular Botanic Gardens Of Wales and then transition onto the bike that will take you out onto the surrounding roads. This outstanding bike course boasts of rolling hills surrounded by stunning farm lands.
So let’s get down to the details:

The Wildflower Duathlon can be entered by anyone who feels capable of completing the above distances.
British Triathlon Federation Rules
BTF rules, All competitors must comply with BTF rules, (it is recommended that you read the BTF rules and regulations which will be applied to his race). All competitors must be licensed to race, those non BTF members will be required to pay a £6GBP levy for a day license. This is now all digital and is included in the non member entry cost.

Minimum age for competitors
The minimum age to take part in this event is 17.

Keep racing tidy
If you intend to use your own nutrition please keep hold of it until you reach a suitable place to discard of it.
We would appreciate if you would either wait until you reach a dedicated trash zone or give them to a marshal.
Transition rules
Security will be present in the transition area. Only competitors wearing their ID will be allowed in or out.
Your race pack will include a race number and 2 stickers which are to be attached to your bike and helmet. This must be done prior to entering the transition zone.
No riding is allowed in the transition zone. Your helmet must be fastened on your head at all times whilst you are on tour bike or running through transition with your bike.

The Café is located near the start/finish line within the gardens courtyard. There are also toilets onsite at the cafe and at the front entrance gate.
Parking will be provided on the site of the National Botanic Gardens. There is more than enough spaces but please do arrive early to leave plenty of time before your race.

Due to the nature of the race we advise you to plan your race fuel and take your own water and fuel/gels on route, or leave with your bike in transition.
